- what: Of the 37 tsps encoded by the Drosophila genome (Todres et_al, 2000), the authors show that two CD63 orthologs, tsp42Ee and tsp42Eg, are expressed transsynaptically at the NMJ to functionally regulate locomotion and neurotransmitter release. To better understand the function of synaptic Tsps, the authors focused on two previously unexamined Tsps, Tsp42Ee and Tsp42Eg.
