SUMMARY
Worldwide, the population of colon cancer patients is growing. After initial treatment, colon cancer patients enter a survivorship care program for 5 years, with emphasis on the detection of recurrences (follow-up), management of the repercussions of cancer, and rehabilitation (aftercare). In the Netherlands, survivorship care for colon cancer patients is provided in hospital by a specialist.
