    Alterations of the gut microbiota and dysfunction of the gut-brain axis are involved in the pathophysiology of migraine. Previous studies have revealed that some microbiota-derived products, such as short-chain fatty_acids (SCFAs) and tryptophan metabolites, are involved in diverse physiological and pathological activities. In the previous study, the authors have found that the gut microbiota can modulate mechanical allodynia in a nitroglycerin (NTG)-induced migraine model.
