Most of these lesions derive from muscle tissue and have a benign behavior, while malignant lesions are rare, although often underestimated.2 A study performed at Universidade de Coimbra showed that 56% of cases of musculoskeletal tumors of the foot and ankle occur in women and 44% in men, aged 15 to 76 years old. In terms of location, 88% were soft tissue tumors, 12% were bone lesions, and the most frequent histological diagnosis was giant cell tumor. The exclusion criteria were: benign bone tumors; extensive lesions that affect the vascularization and do not allow limb-salvage . . .
