Spontaneous and ligand-induced trafficking of cxc-chemokine receptor 4*

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Nadya I. Tarasova from the (UNIVERSITY) have published the paper: Spontaneous and Ligand-induced Trafficking of CXC-Chemokine Receptor 4*, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
  • what: This study provides evidence that the viral envelope glycoprotein gp120 is a high affinity ligand of CXCR4 and that SDF-1a and gp120 induce endocytosis of CXCR4 that is significantly irreversible. The authors demonstrate that recycling of CXCR4 is not efficient, and, unlike CCKAR, a significant portion of CXCR4 molecules could be detected in lysosomes after addition of the ligand.
