HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Guillaume Rivière from the InstitutNormandy University, Caen, France have published the research: Epigenetic features in the oyster Crassostrea gigas suggestive of functionally relevant promoter DNA methylation in invertebrates, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- what: From these observations which broaden former hypotheses (Roberts and Gavery, 2012; Gavery and Roberts, 2014), the authors propose that DNA methylation bears a crucial role in most if not all physiological processes which implicate the implementation and the dynamic regulation of transient transcriptomes throughout the oyster life cycle.
- future: Future research should also address the complete epigenetic landscape . . .
