- What: The aim of this article is to comprehensively analyze the performance, advantages, and limitations of various chelating agents, with a specific focus on conventional agents like EDTA and environmentally friendly alternatives such as GLDA, MGDA, and EDDS. Based on the analysis presented in this paper, the effectiveness of the four chelating agents is ranked as follows: EDDS > MGDA > GLDA > EDTA, considering their overall heavy metal removal rates, versatility in application, and environmental friendliness.
