    The interindividual variability of adipose_tissue distribution and the presence of comorbidities, increase the risk of surgical complications in obese patients. Since obesity produces low-grade chronic inflammation, which is also associated with an increase of circulating pro-inflammatory factors, it has been reported that anesthetic agents can modulate the impaired immune_response in patients with obesity. There is a need for further research on the immune_response of patients exposed to different anesthetic drugs.
