    Microfluidics, defined as the science of systems that process small amounts of fluid in channels characterized by a size from tens to hundreds of micrometers, offers several advantages for the fabrication of biomedical devices for diagnostic and therapeutic uses. Two main principles are used to transmit an acoustic field to the fluid contained in a microchannel: bulk acoustic wave (BAW)-based and surface acoustic wave (SAW)based devices. By applying an AC voltage to the electrode, the inverse piezoelectric effect causes the generation and propagation of surface acoustic waves in the form of Rayleigh . . .
