SUMMARY

    The importance of a finely balanced T_cell response-strong enough to prevent cancer and to protect from infectious diseases while not damaging its own tissue-is reflected in the increasing amount of therapeutic approaches targeting T_cells. The latter applies, for example, for an adoptive transfer of T_cells (ACT) expressing a chimeric antigen receptor as a therapeutic tool. In this regard, it is of great interest to understand the molecular switches of T_cell activation, to modulate their responsiveness and the T_cell-mediated immune_response outcome.
