- what: The authors show, using in_vivo and in_vitro approaches that LCIP63 is indeed a new subclass of CA, an important chloroplastic component of the CCM in T. pseudonana, uses Mn2+ as a cofactor and is taxonomically and geographically widespread.
- future: More work is needed to establish if Mn2+ is the metal cofactor in the native CA . . .
