A qualitative process analysis of daily contact testing as an alternative to self-isolation following close contact with a confirmed carrier of sars-cov-2

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

In an attempt to reduce the negative impact of selfisolation without increasing transmission of SARSCoV-2, the government made available a scheme in which daily contact testing (DCT) with an LFT was offered as an alternative to self-isolation for some settings. Self-isolation following close contact is no longer a requirement, however, close contacts of SARS-CoV-2 carriers are still at an increased risk of becoming infected, and diagnostic testing may still be beneficial during potential future outbreaks.
