Twin anemia polycythemia sequence (TAPS) complicates about 5% of monochorionic (MC) twin pregnancies, and is the consequence of small arteriovenous anastomoses ( and amp;lt; 1 mm in diameter) connecting the placental vessels of the twins; an imbalance in blood flow between the fetuses results . . .
