• What: The aim of the workshop was to orient institutional research teams for a commissioned study titled: Steering Epistemic Access and Success of Historically Disadvantaged Students in African Universities. The researchers` narratives which emerged during workshop addressed the general problem of the imposition of the research goal and research design by commissioned studies at the expense of researchers` lived experiences and knowledge of the research which are critical in the formulation of research methods and relevant social theories.
