SUMMARY
In natural gas transportation, cyclone separators have been widely used for gas-solid separation. Reppenhagen and Werther studied the erosion in the cyclone separator and found that the erosion rate in the cyclone was proportional to the average radius and inlet velocity. Almost all previous works on the CFD simulation and experiment of cyclone erosions were focused on tangential inlet cyclone separators; there are only a limited number of erosion studies on the axial inlet cyclone separator.
