SUMMARY

    Surgery remains overwhelmingly a male field. There is evidence that female surgeons experience more discomfort in their bodies and their hands than their male colleagues. It would be recommendable, therefore, to adjust the height of the monitor to a common level of suitability for the whole operating staff; eventually, the use of a second screen appears essential in considerations of different surgeons` heights, aiming to place the screen at the centre, just below the eye level.
