- What: More specifically, this study examines the naming episode within the story, in which God teaches Adam "the names, all of them" (v. 31), to counter the angels` objection to the creation of the human creature on the basis that he will "spread corruption … and will shed blood" (v. 30). This study has argued that in the case of Adam and the names, the nature of some of this engagement has been misunderstood, as a consequence of which the quranic story itself has been misconstrued.
