• What: 4.1 Animal Model Sizes and Ages All of the research discussed in this review that conducted in_vivo testing of gradient scaffolds for musculoskeletal repair used small animals such as rats and rabbits. 4.2 Comparison with Other Scaffolds Tested in Large Animal Models Although the studies discussed in this review have not tested gradient scaffold designs using large animal models of musculoskeletal repair, other types of scaffold implants have been examined in sheep , horses and goats .
