SUMMARY
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood, such as experiencing violence, abuse, or neglect, witnessing violence at home and having a family member attempt to commit suicide. According to the Center`s original ACE questionnaire, 7 types of ACEs: 3 types of child abuse (psychological, physical, and sexual) and 4 types of family dysfunction (violent treatment of mother, living without family members, drug abuse, mental health patients or suicide, or imprisonment) were assessed.
