- What: Specifically this study explores the abnormalities in brain structures involving the frontal lobe and amygdala as well as the effects of abuse and ignorance in its development. Currently, the research associated with ASPD focuses on its pathological mechanisms, behavioural manifestations, early intervention and treatments. This study has an exigent social value at either the academic or the practical levels. The study proposed that children who had been sexually abused were 2 to 4 times more likely to develop ASPD between the ages of 18 to 25 than children who had not been sexually abused .
