- What: This study investigates how and when in-utero exposure to agricultural droughts impacts under-five mortality and explores how this impact varies based on demographic and socioeconomic characteristics. The third contribution of this work is to investigate the extent to which key demographic and socioeconomic factors can mitigate children`s vulnerability to climate extremes in-utero. The data used for this analysis show that the country was hit by drought in 2007, an event caused by the delayed onset of the wet season (NASA, 2007).
