Alternative splicing of pericentrin contributes to cell cycle control in cardiomyocytes

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Jakob Steinfeldt et al. from the Muscle Research Center Erlangen (MURCE), Erlangen, Germany have published the research: Alternative Splicing of Pericentrin Contributes to Cell Cycle Control in Cardiomyocytes, in the Journal: (JOURNAL) of 15/06/2021
  • what: The authors show by antibody staining in combination with SiRNA-mediated Pcnt depletion and ectopic expression of tagged Pcnt isoforms that Pcnt B preferentially localizes at the centrosome and Pcnt S at the nuclear envelope. Here the authors show that serum stimulation upon depletion of Pcnt S resulted 14 of 16 in increased cardiomyocyte cell division.
