- what: Using low concentrations of AMPK activators, including the direct activator A76966224, the authors show that AMPK activation efficiently inhibits cardiomyocyte hypertrophy without affecting any of the previously-described AMPK downstream targets, suggesting that AMPK regulates cardiac hypertrophy via a not-yet-identified mechanism.
