- what: DOACs are relatively contra-indicated in patients with cancer due to increased risk of bleeding, but this trial showed comparable rates of bleeding including major gastrointestinal bleeding in both the patient arms. The study showed that reversal was quick and occurred independently of age, sex, renal function, and dabigatran concentration at baseline. Most patients in this trial had cardiovascular disease and the bleeding was mostly intracranial (n=227) or gastrointestinal . . .
