SUMMARY
The aim of the study was to analyze the involvement of medical students in the pandemic response in the Czech Republic, focusing on the tension between the competencies and credentials of medical students and their assigned tasks in the clinical care during the pandemic response. In this situation there was a hypothesis regarding a discrepancy between the formal credentialing system defined in the national legislation (in effect from 2004 to January 2021) and competencies assigned to medical students during their involvement in provision of care.
