Anesthetic considerations and outcomes in amniotic fluid embolism: a retrospective study over a 15-year period

  • What: This study has the particularity of presenting AFE cases who benefited from a multidisciplinary approach in an almost 16-year period, and highlights the importance of prompt intensive care support that limits adverse pregnancy and neonatal outcomes. The majority of the patients included in this study have undergone cesarean delivery, and this surgical procedure is cited in the literature as a risk factor for the occurrence of AFE .
