Artificial intelligence-based approach for damage localization in ultrasonic guided wave-based structural health monitoring

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The survey shows that the adoption of ML in SHM has greatly enhanced system capabilities, offering innovative solutions to various 2 research challenges. The tasks of damage detection and localization become significantly more challenging as system complexity increases, which is addressed in this work showcasing the application of AI-based SHM on a stiffened composite plate. For the localization concept presented in this work, the AI models are provided with the information from each path of the experimental setup independently.
