The red line marks the Subpolar Front SeaSoar survey occupied during this event. Strong winds extend from the Primorye coast to Japan. Strong surface heat loss occurs under the outbreak pathway with enhanced values where the cold, dry air mass encounters warmer waters on the south side of the front and off the Japanese coast.
