- what: The authors show that as the aerosol optical depth (AOD) increases from 0.02 to a value of ~0.6 there is a decrease of ~4◦ C at 1000 hPa and an increase of ~1.5◦ C at 850 hPa. The authors focus on the height of the biomass burning season, August and September, for the years 2005-2008.
