SUMMARY
The beneficial effects of exercise on cognitive function across the lifespan are well-documented. Athletes who engage in strategic sports have been found to perform better on tasks requiring visual attention and motor inhibition compared to those in interceptive sports, as well as better inhibitory control and stability of performance than athletes in static sports.
