- What: This study had ethical approval from the Health and Disability Ethics Committees New Zealand (19/STH/151) and was registered with the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (ACTRN12620000459921). The study aimed to minimise recruitment bias, targeting all infants rather than specifically those who used baby food pouches or baby-led weaning per se and a diverse range of ethnic and socioeconomic groups. The study focused on the use of commercial ‘ready-to-eat` baby food pouches. Ultimately, although it is unlikely that consuming baby food from pouches in itself enhances iron status at this age . . .
