- What: The authors aimed to investigate the effectiveness of B. velezensis HBXN2020 in alleviating S. Typhimurium-induced mouse colitis and assessed the biological safety of B. velezensis HBXN2020. This study provides support for the development of probiotic-based microbial products as an alternative prevention strategy for Salmonella infection. In this study, the safety of B. velezensis HBXN2020 was evaluated by measuring the body weight, intestinal barrier proteins, and inflammatory cytokines of the experimented mice, as well as conducting routine blood and biochemical tests.
