- what: The experiments support a more nuanced view of the role of mesothelial cells in cancer: First, the authors detected mesothelial cells in the omental tumor microenvironment. The authors show that mesothelial cells are required for OvCa metastasis, and that cancer-associated mesothelial cells are present in the tumor microenvironment and promote OvCa metastasis.
