Cerebral magnetic resonance spectroscopy – insights into preterm brain injury

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The aim of this study was to enhance the understanding of brain injury patterns in preterm-born infants. Interestingly, the study showed differences in metabolism among the left and right thalamus in the group of VP infants. In the study , the NAA/Cho ratio in the right thalamus in the moderate/severe GBAS subgroup was lower than that in the normal or mild GBAS subgroup, and a similar trend was shown in the left thalamus.
