HIGHLIGHTS
- What: This study examined the role of COVID-19 on the intertwined relation between perceived stress and depressiveness (negative and positive affect) in adolescents focusing on gender differences. This model proposes that individuals with depressive symptoms are prone to disproportionately recall negative information, such as through overgeneralization or all-or-nothing thinking. To address this gap, this study investigated the bidirectionality between perceived stress and depressiveness throughout the pandemic. Although this research has numerous merits, it has several limitations.
