SUMMARY
The initiating signal for cardiomyocyte contraction is the action potential, which propagates rapidly along the plasma_membrane. In mature cardiomyocytes, the plasma_membrane forms highly ordered tubular invaginations, T-tubules, that penetrate into the interior of cardiomyocytes and allow rapid transmission of the action potential throughout the cardiomyocyte interior2. Little has been reported about the in_vivo function of CMYA5. Ablation of CMYA5 disrupted dyad architecture, dysregulated RYR2 channel activity, and impaired the fidelity of E-C coupling. CMYA5 protected heart function and dyad structure from pressure overload stress. The authors expressed these dyad-targeted proteome biosensors . . .
