  • what: The authors thus asked whether Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology non-toxic, preconditioning interventions acting on iron instead of oxygen availability may provide beneficial effects too. While HP has known beneficial effects against severe hypoxia-induced neuromuscular damage across species (Dasgupta et_al, 2007), the authors show here that mild treatment with CoCl2 may also similarly provide protection against severe hypoxia, aging, or accumulation . . .
