SUMMARY

    Over the last decade, PRO measures have been programmed in software applications ("apps") on electronic devices which are provided to study participants (provisioned devices ) and then returned to the study site at the end of the trial. Increased personal smartphone ownership has generated considerable interest in having participants use their own devices (‘bring your own device` ) in clinical trials and other studies. A study that randomized participants (n=87) to receive a 28-day intervention for medication adherence on either their own smartphone or a PD reported that PD users showed higher initial adherence . . .
