Comparative analysis of dietary vs. non-dietary approaches in obesity and disordered eating behaviors: a narrative review of the literature

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: This narrative review has investigated the role of dietary versus non-dietary approaches on weight loss and DEBs in adults with obesity. This study reported greater weight loss, not statistically significant, at follow-up (12.5 months post-intervention) in the group following a dietary-approach associated with mindfulness components compared with the group following the standard dietary-approach. One notable limitation of this review is that all included studies were conducted exclusively in two countries, Brazil and the United_States.
