- what: In this study aimed at identifying salivary proteins with anti-IAV activity, proteins in saliva collected from the parotid and SMSL glands were identified, quantified, and compared using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The findings of this study demonstrated high concentrations of cystatin family members in SMSL saliva that positively correlated with anti-IAV activity.
