Complexity and entropy in physiological signals (ceps): resonance breathing rate assessed using measures of fractal dimension, heart rate asymmetry and permutation entropy

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

The authors have applied several of them here, focusing on other fractal dimensions in addition to FD_H (CEPS now includes some 22 FDs) and heart rate asymmetry (five ‘classical` HRA measures and 11 derived from Poincaré plots). In the first study, the authors compared values of FD_H, multiscale permutation entropy deeply or shallowly, so just breathe normally. Highest S (>0.999) was for FD_H, and highest ICC (>0.99) for EPP SD1_3. In summary (and taking Table 18 into account), it would appear that FD_H, the for the three FDs, especially FD-H.
