HIGHLIGHTS

• What: The aim of this study is to provide knowledge on the biological characteristics of GC in a European and LATAM cohort to assess the presence of regional differences that may offer insights into future tailored therapies and thus improved quality of life for GC patients. The study demonstrates that there are significant biological differences in gastroesophageal cancer between Europe and LATAM. Another limitation of the study is that all analyses were conducted on endoscopically obtained biopsies, which reflect only the superficial portion of the tumor.
