Conceptualizing adolescents’ everyday stressors to underscore areas for support

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: To be able to identify possible coping tools in a school setting, the aim of this study is to conceptualize adolescents` experiences of everyday stressors. The model describes health by illustrating how body functions, body structures, activities, and participation are under influence of the context defined by environmental and personal factors. This research was conducted based on the ethical principles set out in the Declaration of Helsinki (WMA, 2018). The analysis showed that everyday stressors among adolescents can be conceptualized as stress related to general tasks and demands, mental functions, attitudes and support and relationships.
