HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Nuria Salmeru00f3n from the International Master of Science in Marine Biological Resources (IMBRSea), Ghent University have published the research work: Contrasting environmental conditions precluded lower availability of Antarctic krill affecting breeding chinstrap penguins in the Antarctic Peninsula, in the Journal: Scientific Reports Scientific Reports
- how: Acoustic data was analysed with the Echoview post processing software version 9.1. The results showed that chinstrap penguins adjusted their foraging behaviour to low krill availability conditions by performing longer trips with deeper and more frequent dives with likely consequences on breeding success.
