Controlling gas generation of li-ion battery through divinyl sulfone electrolyte additive

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Woon Ih Choi and colleagues from the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), Samsung Electronics, Samsung-ro have published the research work: Controlling Gas Generation of Li-Ion Battery through Divinyl Sulfone Electrolyte Additive, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
  • what: The experiments demonstrated that gas species were generated during spontaneous discharging when electrolytes were exposed to an electrooxidative environment. When an electro-oxidation condition was imposed in the following AIMD, the negative charge at the F and O atomic sites needed to disappear. Electroreductive reactions were expected to occur in the following AIMD run.
