Core-shell 3d printed biodegradable calcium phosphate cement—alginate scaffolds for possible bone regeneration applications

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Who: . and collaborators from the University of Mississippi, United States have published the Article: Core-shell 3D printed biodegradable calcium phosphate cement — Alginate scaffolds for possible bone regeneration applications, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
  • How: In this work the coreshell printing of CPC with alginate gel in the core is considered with the background that alginate requires free Ca2+ ions for crosslinking (with release of water) and CPC requires water for setting. The following results were obtained for the dimensions (external and internal) of the scaffolds after 3D printing and post-processing.
