    So, considering the known positive role of legumes on human health and sustainable agriculture systems, and considering that 2016 has been declared the "International Year of legumes" by FAO (UN A/RES/68/231), to promote their nutritional use, the authors investigated the cytoprotective effects of a new hydroalcoholic extract of culinary Lens of Apulian origin (02.170221.96 Terre di Altamura Srl/TDA) in in_vitro cell models. The authors evaluated the in_vitro capability of the extract in counteracting osteoblast loss following corticosteroids like dexamethasone.
