SUMMARY
In cyclic gas storage, the working gas (WG) is the part of the gas that is injected and withdrawn during the commercial gas storage operation, while the cushion gas (CG) remains in the storage site to maintain efficient and desired production levels and reduce water inflow. CG is directly related to dynamic storage capacity in that the lower the required CG/WG ratio is, the higher the WG capacity of the site is. Compared to permanent CO2 storage, in cyclic gas storage the WG must be injected and produced over a few months - a very different scenario . . .
