Cytoglobin silencing promotes melanoma malignancy but sensitizes for ferroptosis and pyroptosis therapy response

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Joey De Backer and colleagues from the University of Antwerp, Wilrijk, Belgium Fribourg, Fribourg, Switzerland have published the paper: Cytoglobin Silencing Promotes Melanoma Malignancy but Sensitizes for Ferroptosis and Pyroptosis Therapy Response, in the Journal: Antioxidants 2022, 11, 1548. of /2022/
  • what: The authors investigated the potential effect of CYGB on the cellular sensitivity towards (1S 3R)-RAS-selective lethal small molecule (RSL3)-mediated ferroptosis in the G361 cells with abundant endogenous expression. Altogether the authors show that of CYGB expression modulates cancer sensitivity via regulation of ferroptosis and cell death signaling pathways.
