    In cognitively unimpaired individuals, it has been shown that depressive and anxiety symptoms, even at a subclinical level, increase the risk of cognitive decline (Geda et_al, 2014; Zhang et_al, 2020) and of developing AD (Harrington et_al, 2015; Petkus et_al, 2016).
